Hello there, I am Lael, a mother and a mother-in-law to four successful humans. My philosophy of hospitality began when I was a child and has dictated how I live in the world. Encounters with the innumerable people who have been guests at our table has impacted me deeply – every face, every smile, every tear, every story, every argument, has made its way into the fabric of my life. Hospitality rather than tolerance is the mantra of my life.

Hospitality has always been a hyper-focus of my life and an enormous amount of my time is centred around a table. My kitchen table is always laden with food. My dining table is always surrounded by guests. My coffee table is always covered in books. I am going to enjoy using this space to share my love of food, my encounters and experiences and my delight when finding a great read.
